Build a daily movement habit: streaks, badges and weekly challenges

Fun Cam Games · 2026-07-11

Getting a kid to play an active game once is easy; getting them to move consistently, every day is the hard part. That is where a few small mechanics borrowed from habit science help. Fun Cam Games just added a shared progress layer across all its games — here is why these features work and how to use them well.

Streaks: the power of "don't break the chain"

A daily streak 🔥 counts how many days in a row your child has moved. The "don't break the chain" instinct is one of the strongest yet gentlest reasons to come back: a single short round a day keeps it alive. To avoid the discouragement of missing one day (illness, a trip away), we added a Streak Shield — once a week it automatically saves the streak if exactly one day is missed. The goal is encouragement, not punishment.

Levels and badges: visible progress

Every active minute adds experience points that raise a level and unlock badges — from "Hello, Mover!" for the first round to "Motion Legend". Crucially, points are based on time the body actually moves, not the in-game score, so every child makes progress regardless of skill. The profile strip also shows the next badge that is almost within reach ("2 more plays") — a near-miss usually pulls kids back harder than a badge already earned.

Weekly challenges: a fresh goal every Monday

Each week brings two new challenges — an easy one everyone can finish, and a bigger one for keen players. Think "move 30 minutes this week" or "play several different games". Because everyone sees the same challenge that week, it creates a sense of taking part together, and gives kids a fresh reason to return on days when they are not sure what to play.

Active minutes: the number for parents

Instead of only counting score, the system measures the minutes the body is genuinely moving each week. This is the number parents care about most: it turns every badge and challenge into a clear message — "your child moved X minutes this week". It all works instantly with no account and one profile on your device; sign in and progress syncs securely across your devices, so up to 5 profiles can each build the habit and chip in to shared All-Profiles Points.
